Conductix-Wampfler: ChargeLine 0865
3rd place in category 2: Conveyor technology and identification technology: Two-pole conductor rail segments for efficient opportunity charging of shuttles, suitable for thousands of cycles per day.
According to the manufacturer Conductix-Wampfler, ChargeLine 0865 is more than just a conductor rail and was specially developed for flexible shuttles that have an energy storage unit to be charged. The focus of the development: high reliability and service life of both the entry funnel and the current collector units, for millions of dynamic passes over the charging segment by the shuttles. Typical loading points are located in front of lifters or transfer points for containers, trays or cartons, for example, so that reloading can take place during the normal cycle time. The advantage is that the entire system is highly flexible and scalable. The vehicles can simply change aisles or levels and are supplied from the energy storage system during this time. Further advantages are: compact, space-saving design, prefabricated segment lengths according to customer requirements with entry funnels on one or both sides, feed-in is possible on both sides, quick and easy installation at the points where opportunity charging is possible and sensible in the system concept. It is also scalable and compatible with the MultiLine 0835 conductor rail system for the continuous energy supply of shuttles. The question of whether a shuttle is continuously supplied with power or whether an energy storage unit is recharged segment by segment, for example at the lifter, depends largely on the shuttle concept. If high throughput, compact design, low weight and minimal life cycle costs are required, a conductor rail is and remains unbeatable. However, the more flexibility is required and if shuttles are to move in two or even three dimensions, the technical advantages of energy storage systems on board the shuttles become more relevant. ChargeLine 0865 enables efficient opportunity charging of the on-board batteries where shuttles are in waiting positions for process-related reasons.
