International implementation project
Würth Elektronik standardizes warehouse processes in the USA
PSI Software was commissioned by the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group to implement the PSIwms warehouse management system at the US site in Watertown. The aim is to future-proof the warehouse processes through a standardized and system-guided warehouse strategy.
With the second international implementation project, Würth Elektronik is further expanding its cooperation with PSI and establishing an international WMS system standard.
The PSIwms warehouse management system bundles the company's requirements into a central standard for the Waldenburg, Lyon and Watertown sites. The software, based on the PSIwms Edition Flex, is integrated into the existing IT ecosystem as an on-premise solution. The internationally standardized functionalities include 2D barcode handling, ESD processes and re-reeling functions that are specially tailored to the electronics industry.
Fully system-managed warehouse strategy
At the Watertown site, many processes were previously characterized by workarounds and individual experience. With PSIwms, a fully system-managed warehouse strategy with clearly defined roles, guided processes and traceable bookings is now being introduced.
In future, shelf and pallet warehouses as well as floor and goods-in areas will be controlled via the system. A total of around 20,000 storage locations for almost 7,000 active items are mapped. The site processes an average of more than 300 order items every day, and over 1,300 at peak times.
