Digital tools for shipping
Sensor specialist Sick and the CPO container shipping company are cooperating. Since 2020, both companies have been working on digital solutions for the maritime industry, which have now also been technically assessed by the classification society DNV.
The Sick Maritime Suite provides CPO with a holistic view of the emissions and performance of the exhaust gas purification system on the ship, the condition monitoring of the emission measuring device and the compliance status of the ship - and also uses intelligence through trained machine learning models. The solution includes several digital services: MARtracker can be used to load data about the scrubber's operation from the cloud and monitor compliance with guidelines.
MARpems is the digital twin of the Marsic emissions measuring device, so to speak. With MARdiagnostics, data on the status of the measuring device can be viewed online and in real time. CPO has installed the Maritime Suite together with Sick on the MSC La Spezia in the port of Long Beach in California. Sick already has an extensive portfolio in the maritime industry and is now expanding this further with the Maritime Suite.
