Lufthansa Cargo's Harald Gloy elected

Martin Schrüfer,

Air Cargo Community Frankfurt with new boss

At the first meeting of the year, the members of the Executive Board unanimously entrusted the 46-year-old Lufthansa employee with responsibility for the work of the community. In this role, he succeeds Sören Stark, who moved to the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg at the beginning of the year.

"I am very much looking forward to working with Harald Gloy and his impetus for our work," emphasizes Joachim von Winning, Managing Director of the Community. "In addition to his in-depth professional expertise, he also brings significant experience in volunteering in the aviation sector." Harald Gloy has been the new Chief Operations Officer at Lufthansa Cargo AG since the beginning of the year. During his last position at Lufthansa Technik AG, he was a member of the Executive Board of Hamburg Aviation e.V. and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Center for Applied Aviation Research GmbH in Hamburg. It is precisely this ability of the trained industrial engineer to think outside the box that will further advance the work of the Frankfurt air freight advocates. This year, the community will be focusing on two main areas: Firstly, supporting the member companies with impulses for recruiting specialists and profiling employer brands in Frankfurt.

Secondly, the community sees digitalization, with its many challenges, as the engine for the air freight of the future: for faster and verifiable processes. To this end, the community is planning to establish an Air Cargo Digitization Catalyst (ACDC) in the spring, a platform for member companies to exchange ideas on the topic of digitization. This is what makes the community concept so special: It thrives on the commitment of its members. They define interfaces for cooperation and pool their resources for the implementation of innovations, for solutions that are not just a drop in the ocean.
