Rhenus Maritime Services will manage Arkon Shipping & Projects under the new company name RMS Projects together with the co-founder and Managing Director Thomas Cord, who will continue to hold the remaining 40 percent of the shares. Rhenus Maritime Services is taking over its 60 percent shares from the previous second Managing Director, Torsten Westphal. The change of shareholders and the new name RMS Projects will also see the company's headquarters relocated from Haren an der Ems to Hamburg.

Thomas Cord will be joined by Thomas Ullrich, Managing Director of Rhenus Maritime Services, as the new Managing Director. "Rhenus and Arkon Shipping & Projects have already worked together on a number of projects and we see great potential for further expanding this partnership in the area of project transportation and bulk chartering," says Thomas Ullrich. "We will not only be working for Rhenus in the future, but will also operate a central chartering desk for a large number of customers in the project and heavy-lift segment as a broker," adds Co-Managing Director Thomas Cord. RMS Projects also acts as the commercial manager for a fleet of 20 multi-purpose heavy-lift carriers.
