Logistics service providers: Transporeon is once again one of the Focus growth champions

Ulm, 11.01.2017 - Transporeon GmbH is one of the growth champions of 2017, according to a study conducted by the news magazine Focus together with Statista, the leading online portal for statistics, to identify the German companies with the highest sales growth.

With average sales growth of 27 percent in the years 2012 to 2015, Transporeon The Ulm-based platform operator specializes in connecting industrial and retail companies with their logistics service providers.

Peter Schmidt, Managing Director and CSO of the Transporeon Group, was delighted with the result: "Transporeon has been one of Germany's 'growth champions' for many years. For us, this is not a matter of course, but proof that we contribute to the economic success of our customers with our solutions. Our employees have played a major role in this development and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their fantastic commitment."

Transporeon now employs over 500 people worldwide. The web-based solutions enable transportation tenders, order placement, time slot booking and tracking & tracing to be carried out easily and efficiently. Transporeon's management expects further strong growth in the coming years. "On the one hand, this is due to increasing digitalization in the transport and logistics industry," says Schmidt. "On the other hand, since summer 2016 we have had a new majority shareholder in TPG Capital, which will provide an additional boost." The US company TPG Capital is a leading global investor in internet and technology companies with particular expertise and networks in the transport sector.

The top list of 500 growth champions includes companies that achieved particularly high percentage sales growth per year between 2012 and 2015. Both privately owned and listed companies were included. They operate independently, are not subsidiaries, are based in Germany and had a turnover of at least 100,000 euros in 2012 and at least 1.8 million euros in 2015. red
