40 new wagons for semi-trailers
Flexam Invest is supporting CargoBeamer's expansion by financing 40 intermodal wagons. The transaction also includes 24 wagons from CargoBeamer's own assembly line in Erfurt.
CargoBeamer, a logistics service provider for the intermodal transport of non-craneable semi-trailers, has successfully completed an asset-based transaction for 40 of its wagons with Flexam Invest Asset Management, a French private debt manager specializing in asset financing. Some of the financed wagons come from the first production line of the Erfurt assembly plant, which CargoBeamer put into operation at the end of 2022.
The patented wagons, which were developed by CargoBeamer, are now in daily use on the company's intermodal rail network, primarily in France between Calais and Perpignan.
CargoBeamer wagons are designed for the intermodal transportation of semi-trailers and a wide variety of other loading units. Equipped with a steel frame and a wagon top, they enable the horizontal, parallel and automatic loading and unloading of units within a CargoBeamer terminal. While no modifications to customers' semi-trailers are required, CargoBeamer technology reduces CO2 emissions by around 85 percent compared to road transportation. In addition, the craneable wagon top, on which the semi-trailer is placed, allows CargoBeamer trains to be easily handled in standard crane terminals or with reachstacker vehicles, which lift both the wagon top and the transport unit together from the train.
