Linde postpones "World of Material Handling" to 2021
The intralogistics industry event "World of Material Handling" planned for June in Mannheim has been postponed by one year due to the coronavirus.
"We want to make a solidarity contribution to slowing the spread of the virus," says Christophe Lautray, Managing Director Sales and Service at the main organizer Linde Material Handling: "The health of employees, customers and society has priority."
At the industry event, Linde Material Handling and more than 20 other exhibitors (including Dematic) wanted to present innovative products and solutions for intralogistics. "Preparations were already in full swing. Many of our colleagues have put a lot of commitment and heart and soul into the event," says Christophe Lautray: "I would like to express my sincere thanks for this - especially to our partners."
The decision was not an easy one. "Nevertheless, we quickly agreed that we had to - and wanted to - take responsibility in the current situation," Lautray continued. The postponement will help to slow down the spread of the virus. Lautray: "That is our first priority."
New date in June 2021
The new date for the "World of Material Handling" is expected to be in June 2021, and the venue will remain the Maimarkt grounds in Mannheim. "The concept remains the same," says Lautray: "We want to talk to customers and interested parties, listen to them - and exchange ideas with them about solutions that are already available and future developments."
This year, Linde Material Handling will primarily be providing information about new products online - and, of course, through personal contact. "We have the densest sales network in the industry," says Christophe Lautray: "More than a thousand intralogistics consultants from Linde Material Handling are available to our customers across Europe by phone, email and, of course, in person."
