Excellent design from Crown

The international and high-caliber jury of experts awarded the coveted seal of approval in the "Vehicles" category for the high-quality product design of the new ride-on pallet trucks. This is now the 28th iF Design Award that Crown has received since 1969.

The RT 4000 ride-on pallet trucks with a load capacity of up to 2,000 kilograms were launched on the European market at the end of 2015. According to the manufacturer, they combine robust and powerful forklift technology with innovative safety features and offer advantages in terms of maneuverability, responsiveness and reliability. Both the model with driver's platform and the version with driver's seat enable fast loading and unloading, first-class transport performance and optimum maneuvering even in the tightest of spaces. Both models offer the driving comfort that operators need in tough everyday logistics operations. The AC engine from Crown scores with acceleration and enables travel speeds of up to 12.5 km/h.

"The result is a high-performance, stable product that leads to cost savings through higher productivity and greater safety in the warehouse."

Also nominated for the IFOY Award 2016, the model with driver's platform is equipped with a sprung base plate, a soft foam leaning pad and a choice of right- or left-hand steering for driving comfort. In addition, the patented step-in bar with safety switch reduces the risk of foot injuries by deactivating the drive function as soon as the operator places a foot outside the vehicle contours. The model with driver's seat is ideal for applications with high handling capacity and long transport distances. It has a fully suspended driver's seat and a height-adjustable floor plate. The raised seating position ensures good all-round visibility.
