Witron wins prestigious IFOY Award in the "premier class"

A great honor for Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH: The Parkstein-based family business founded by Walter Winkler was presented with the prestigious IFOY Award at the world's leading logistics trade fair CEMAT, an integral part of the Hannover Messe. Witron Managing Director Helmut Prieschenk accepted the prize in the "Integrated Warehouse Solutions" category, which is considered the "premier class" among the award categories, to great jubilation. The logistics general contractor Witron won the award for the implementation of an extremely challenging task for the leading Swiss food retailer Migros at its distribution center in Suhr. The solution implemented combined the logistics for different distribution channels and product groups in one mechanized system, thus optimizing efficiency along the entire supply chain.

"Witron is the first system integrator worldwide to have succeeded in developing a holistic omnichannel solution and merging migrolino AG's volatile small-volume picking with the Migros store business," said Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael ten Hompel was impressed in his laudatory speech. Today, 600 Migros supermarkets of various sizes as well as 300 convenience stores of the subsidiary migrolino are supplied from the Suhr distribution center with the highest possible efficiency and best possible service.

Helmut Prieschenk, Witron project manager Rainer Mündlein and Ernst Pfrunder, responsible Migros company manager at the Suhr distribution center, were correspondingly proud. "The basis of this extraordinary success is undoubtedly the partnership-based cooperation that has connected us with Migros for many years," emphasized Witron CEO Prieschenk. "As you can see, a business relationship characterized by mutual trust and loyalty results in forward-looking solutions that create sustainable competitive advantages for the customer in terms of efficiency, flexibility and ergonomics." A repeat rate in the food retail sector of over four installations per customer shows that Witron keeps its promises.
