Marco Gebhardt wins business award
This year's prestigious "Entrepreneur Of The Year" award for owner-managed, medium-sized companies in Germany goes to Marco Gebhardt from the Gebhardt Intralogistics Group in Sinsheim in the "Digital Transformation" category.
Marco Gebhardt convinced the jury in the criteria of growth, future potential, innovation, employee management and social responsibility and was thus able to prevail against the other finalists. The award ceremony took place on Friday, October 19 at the Historisches Museum Berlin.
For Cem Özdemir, the laudator of the category and Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the German Bundestag, the origin of the winner was not at all surprising. "Of course the award winner comes from the Ländle - where else would it come from?" said Özdemir. The Gebhardt Intralogistics Group has made a name for itself as "one of the biggest pioneers of Industry 4.0 solutions", said Özdemir. Gebhardt was able to prevail against 33 selected finalists for the German competition, also entrepreneurs who understand that economic success and social responsibility are closely linked.
For Gebhardt, winning the category is also a responsibility and a commitment to the company, its employees and its customers: "Digitalization and Industry 4.0 are already fundamentally transforming the economy today. Our aim is to actively shape this change and use it to our advantage in order to remain an attractive employer for the region in the future." The gala evening, hosted by Tagesschau presenter Judith Rakers, offered the 700 invited guests the opportunity to network and make contacts. The prize is awarded by national, independent juries in more than 60 countries.
