Efficient and ecological

The large load carrier used by Pooling Partners is a real innovation in the logistics sector. Thanks to the sandwich folding concept, KTP's multi-award-winning divider can be assembled and disassembled in just a few seconds. Thanks to the firmly connected components, nothing gets lost on the way. It can be folded 1:4 for transportation and storage. The new GLT thus combines the volume of conventional pallet cages with the handling of modern folding load carriers. With a load weight of up to 500 kilograms and the same internal dimensions as a pallet cage, it represents an alternative or supplement to established solutions. With a space requirement reduced to less than 25 percent, the return of boxes designed as standard containers is particularly cost-saving and ecological - especially over long distances and long distribution routes.

Material flow: Why is Pooling Partners launching the collapsible mesh box now?Christian Kühnhold: We are launching to make pooling, our customers are focusing on sustainability. By being able to swap containers, companies save money because they are using an environmentally friendly, robust reusable solution with all the benefits. Even today, pallet cages are still often transported empty or Euro pallets with a disposable cardboard storage ring and lid are used as disposable containers. This is not sustainable when you consider the cost of materials and energy consumption.

MFL: For which target groups is the new foldable GLT particularly interesting?Kühnhold: Clearly for the 1st tiers in the automotive industry. We offer the foldable GLT for exchange and rental; many still need their own containers. Folding solutions have been around for many years. The disadvantage is that many companies have their own containers, which cannot be exchanged.

We deliberately offer the GLT for loads of up to 500 kilograms because this is completely sufficient in over 80 percent of cases in the automotive industry. In addition, the GLT has the same internal dimensions as the pallet cage, as many have traditionally based their packing schemes on the pallet cage. With the new GLT, we are focusing in particular on the parts trade in the independent spare parts business and are thinking of packed, cardboard goods. In this sector, there are very large flows of goods throughout Europe from the production sites to the central warehouses of the 1st tiers, and from there, picked goods are sent to the central warehouses of the 1st tier. Our Europe-wide network is the perfect basis for a cost-saving and convenient GLT multi-way solution.
