Steady wireless networks optimize the material flow

The steute "Wireless" division will be exhibiting at LogiMAT for the first time this year. The company develops and manufactures a wide range of switching devices that communicate by radio instead of by signal line. For communication between the switching device and the receiver unit, a

radio protocol in the universally usable 868/915 MHz band. A typical application of radio switching devices in material handling technology is wireless pull switches, which are used to open and close roller shutters from a forklift truck. Radio control units are also used in the communication of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) with their environment, for example with the control systems of high-speed doors and other doors. steute is using LogiMAT to present a new radio network that dispenses with the previous point-to-point connection between the radio control unit and the evaluation unit. Instead, newly developed access points, which work in a similar way to a router, receive the signals from the wireless switching devices, bundle them and send them to one or more application servers, for example via Ethernet or WiFi. A database provided by steute runs on this server, which collects all the information from the field level and passes it on to the customer's IT platform either directly or via middleware.
