AGVs for SMEs
The US-based JBT Corporation Automated Systems, manufacturer of automated guided vehicles, is presenting the JayBoT AGV, its automated guided vehicle (AGV) system developed for medium-sized companies, for the first time in continental Europe.

"The JayBoT has been specially developed for applications that use up to four manual forklift trucks," explains Nicholas Bellwood, European Sales Director JBT Corporation Automated Systems, based in Blaby, Leicester (England). "The compact, efficient AGV offers a convenient entry-level solution for automating material movements at a highly attractive price/performance ratio." The JayBoT has direct two-way communication with input/output sensors and PLC. With their decentralized intelligence, the AGVs can also communicate with each other, organize themselves and make decisions without a system manager. For integrated vehicle fleets, the system can also be designed and retrofitted for centralized control with a system manager. The JayBoT is equipped with an intelligent navigation system that is based on local conditions. It enables independent navigation on predefined routes with a safety zone of 360 degrees around the vehicle.
