Zalando deploys GreyOrange's butler in new fulfillment center
The robotics and warehouse automation company GreyOrange has announced the deployment of its Butler system for the online fashion platform Zalando in a new 30,000 square meter logistics center near Stockholm.
With its robotic system, GreyOrange aims to help halve throughput times for Zalando customers in Northern Europe. GreyOrange's goods-to-person system Butler is designed to help manage Zalando's growing order volume and support the manual work of employees. The new 30,000 square meter fulfillment center is about the size of three soccer fields and is located in Brunna, Sweden.
Jan Bartels, VP Customer Fulfillment and Logistics at Zalando, says: "Zalando believes in modern automation solutions and dedicated employees. We use the latest technologies for monotonous and non-ergonomic tasks to reduce the workload of our employees. At the same time, we are increasing efficiency. By improving and speeding up processes in the logistics center, we can process orders even faster so that our customers can benefit from shorter delivery times." The AI-driven Butler system provides a deep, multi-SKU capable warehouse system. Strict SLA-based fulfillment requirements have been met as many of the order turnaround times have been halved.
GreyOrange will also be presenting its new technology solutions in the field of robotics and automation at this year's LogiMAT 2019 (Hall 7, Stand F49).
