Swisslog: New high-bay warehouse module in Melsungen in operation
At the headquarters of the pharmaceutical and medical supplies company B. Braun Melsungen, Swisslog has once again laid the logistical foundations for further increases in capacity. The linchpin of the expansion, which went into operation in July, is a new high-bay warehouse module with space for around 10,000 Euro pallets. The storage capacity corresponds to the capacity of the six modules installed in previous years. A total of 28 pallet stacker cranes store and retrieve the goods in the fully automated logistics system. The total capacity of the high-bay warehouse now amounts to 73,000 pallets. "We are proud that B. Braun has already placed its trust in us several times since the warehouse went into operation in 1991," says Daniel Hauser, Managing Director Central Europe at Swisslog Warehouse & Distribution Solutions (photo).
