Katja Preydel,

Polish eGrocery specialist and TGW deepen partnership

TGW is building a highly automated fulfillment center for Frisco.pl in the Polish capital Warsaw. This is the second project in a row that the two companies have implemented together. The online grocery retailer is thus laying the foundation for the dynamic growth planned for the coming years in the highly competitive Polish market.

Frisco.pl is one of Poland's leading eGrocery players and already supplies more than 120,000 customers in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Tricity and Silesia with food and non-food items. Customers benefit from a wide range of products, high product and service quality and a delivery window of just one hour. Ordered goods are conveniently delivered to the front door or office seven days a week.

Frisco and TGW have been working closely together for several years. Together, the intralogistics partners have already established a fulfillment center in Warsaw, which began operations in 2019. "The second automated fulfillment center enables us to double our activities in Warsaw and make our logistics processes highly efficient," emphasizes Grzegorz Bielecki, COO of Frisco.pl.

At the heart of the system, which is also being built in the Polish capital, is a shuttle warehouse with 48,000 storage locations. The latter allows direct access to each individual item and thus enables the shortest possible throughput times. Four aisles are intended for the normal temperature range and two more for chilled products. Customer orders are assembled efficiently at ergonomic PickCenter One workstations.

"For Frisco.pl, this is another important step in our ambitious plan to achieve double-digit growth rates in the coming years and maintain our leading position in Warsaw - while at the same time maintaining the quality of our products and our service at the usual high level," emphasizes CEO Jacek Palec.
