Pierau Planung: Kübler Sport optimizes warehouse logistics

Making homogeneously grown logistics fit with know-how instead of high investments: That was the task for which Kübler Sport GmbH from Backnang (Baden-Württemberg) sought support from Pierau Planung. The Hamburg-based planning and consulting experts developed a step-by-step concept to optimize the warehouse and inventory management of the retailer of sporting goods and therapy equipment. Well-dosed use of technology, the reorganization of the warehouse and the introduction of a basic warehouse management system solution will ensure greater efficiency in the warehouse and picking processes in future - at minimum cost. In order to bring Kübler Sport's logistics up to speed in the long term, it was necessary to optimize the actual processes and inventory management. At the beginning of the optimization measures, Kübler Sport was faced with a classic problem of shippers whose growth "blows up the warehouse": the warehouse structure and organization were no longer intuitive and easy to grasp at first glance. Only experienced employees were able to navigate through the warehouse without having to spend a lot of time searching. The structuring of the warehouse, the new entry of all articles and the allocation and labeling of all storage locations are an important basis for successful logistics. They are completed by the introduction of the new basic warehouse management system, which takes over the processing of the newly acquired information for inventory management and picking. ms
