Aberle equips logistics center for online retailer Lesara
Lesara, an international online retailer of fashion and lifestyle products, has commissioned Aberle GmbH, Leingarten, the system integrator in the Business Area Logistics Systems of the international technology group Körber, to supply and implement automated material flow components for its new logistics center in Erfurt.
As a pioneer in the field of agile retail, the online retailer is integrating the new location into its international and award-winning logistics network. The aim is to further increase the quality and efficiency of logistics. To this end, state-of-the-art conveyor and logistics technology in the new logistics center links the areas of goods receiving, goods storage and retrieval, services such as product packaging and parcel configuration, shipping and returns management. The project will be implemented in two construction stages - the first stage is scheduled to go live in late summer this year.
In the final expansion stage, the Erfurt site will ship around 33,500 parcels a day - up to 85,000 parcels at peak times such as Christmas - to customers throughout Europe. An on-site shelving system will be used for order picking on four floors. For storage, internal transportation and packing and picking processes, Aberle is installing three processing lines in the incoming goods area, each with numerous workstations, as well as a vertical crossbelt sorter with a throughput capacity of up to 3,125 cartons and shipping bags per hour. Order consolidation and sequenced provision of the order items is handled by two commissioners and corresponding container conveyor technology.
In the outgoing goods area, Aberle installs the conveyor technology to connect the customer's workstations for shipment processing. A horizontal crossbelt sorter is used for retrieval at the dispatch gates. Aberle's scope of supply also includes the plastic containers that are used in the closed system. In addition, the PLC control of the conveyor technology and commissioner is integrated into the warehouse management system (WMS). The PMS-V visualization system from Aberle ensures transparency in the flow of goods.
