New headquarters in Denmark
Joint robotics hub from Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots
The robotics companies Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), both part of the US technology group Teradyne Robotics, intend to use their joint headquarters in Odense (Denmark) to create synergies and accelerate innovation in the field of modern robotics.
Universal Robots, a provider of collaborative robots (cobots), and MiR, a manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots (AMR), celebrated the opening of their new 20,000 square meter headquarters in Odense, Denmark on Tuesday. The event was attended by partners from UR and MiR's global ecosystems, including Nvidia and Siemens, with whom Teradyne Robotics and its companies have recently entered into several collaborations.
"The perfect framework for developing cutting-edge solutions"
"The opening of this new headquarters is an important milestone for Teradyne Robotics as we bring together two leaders in robotics innovation," says Ujjwal Kumar, Group President of Teradyne Robotics. "We now have the ideal environment to further develop our technological capabilities, which are already in high demand."
Jean-Pierre Hathout, President of MiR, said of the new robotics hub: "Our new headquarters is designed to foster innovation. It creates the perfect setting for our teams to develop cutting-edge solutions that will revolutionize automation. MiR aims to provide a one-stop store for material handling. As such, we are continuously developing our technology to meet the needs of our large, global customers. Our recently launched AI-driven MiR1200 Pallet Jack is a good example of this. I look forward to seeing the positive impact of our work and showcasing MiR and UR's offerings to our customers and partners in this state-of-the-art facility."
Kim Povlsen, President of Universal Robots, added: "Since our inception, UR has become the platform of choice for thousands of customers and hundreds of ecosystem partners. This beautiful building reflects our strong design philosophy. It is the optimal location to further our mission of providing automation for everyone, everywhere."
