Knapp: Free-moving shuttles for fast pallet transportation
At a specialist forum, Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG presented an innovation from Knapp that is now in use: the free-moving Open Shuttles Fork for the flexible transportation of pallets. Three shuttles pick up the shipping pallets from the pallet conveyor system, transport them to the outgoing goods area and prepare them there for delivery. With the Open Shuttles Fork, pallet transportation within the warehouse is now also flexible. The pallets are picked up directly from the floor. The robots independently take over the tasks of forklift trucks and ants and navigate to their destination. The integration of the Open Shuttles enables Würth to react flexibly and quickly to future developments and requirements.
