As Managing Director of Fischmarkt Hamburg-Altona GmbH,Matthias Funk has already been working in HHLA's real estate division for more than five years. By taking on the role of Commercial Managing Director for the HHLA Real Estate subgroup, he will continue his previous role in the fishing port area in commercial matters. Matthias Funk joined HHLA in 2007 and set up the Investor Relations department as part of the IPO, which he headed for six years.

Rainer Schluff joined the management duo for the entire portfolio in August as the new Technical Managing Director. He comes from the Max Bögl Foundation in Hamburg, where he was head of the building construction division and branch manager for Hamburg. He has particular expertise in the technical project development and execution of complex large-scale construction projects and also has international experience in this area.

Commenting on his move, Rainer Schluff said: "At HHLA, I have the opportunity to be responsible for both the development and realization of projects from a single source. In addition, there are the extremely attractive districts of the Speicherstadt and the fishing port area with their special history. As a North German, I couldn't resist the temptation to actively develop a world heritage site and also manage real estate in a maritime environment."

HHLA Executive Board member Dr. Roland Lappin sees the new management structure as an opportunity to cover future topics more effectively: "HHLA Real Estate has a lot planned, from complex conversion and modernization projects in the Speicherstadt world heritage site to the further development of the quarter in the fishing port area and various logistics properties in the port area. With our experts on the management board and in the entire HHLA Real Estate team, we are ideally positioned for further successful development."

The former Managing Director of HHLA Real Estate, Klaus Hadaschik, has left the company at his own request to take on new professional challenges: "HHLA would like to thank Mr. Hadaschik for his work and wishes him all the best for the future," according to the company's press release.
