Successor to Henning Dieter
Timo Stroh heads DSLV air freight committee
The Air Freight Forwarding Committee of the DSLV German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association elected Timo Stroh, Head of Global Air Freight, Dachser Air & Sea Logistics, as its new Chairman at its meeting on June 19.
Stroh succeeded Henning Dieter, Yusen Logistics Germany, who did not stand for re-election due to an expanded range of tasks within the company. "I am delighted to be able to continue the successful work of the expert committee as Chairman. It is particularly important to me to intensify the direct dialogue with politicians and other air freight logistics associations and organizations," explains Stroh. The annual air freight volume in Germany is 4.9 million tons.
The freight forwarder's handling performance is enormous: 98 percent of the export volume of 2.5 million tons and up to 80 percent of air freight imports amounting to 2.2 million tons are handled by German freight forwarders. Around 0.15 million tons of air freight are moved on domestic German routes. "We must continue to improve the framework conditions for efficient air freight processes in Germany and increase the attractiveness of the industry for young talent," says Stroh about his goals.
The 49-year-old Stroh was previously involved in the DSLV regional association for Hesse/Rhineland-Palatinate, representing the interests of air freight forwarding. In his new role, he is now also a member of the Extended Presidium of the DSLV.
