Fachpack 2024
Europe's packaging industry is back in Nuremberg
From September 24 to 26, 2024, the European packaging industry will once again meet at Fachpack, the trade fair for packaging, technology and processes. Over 1,400 exhibitors will not only showcase packaging materials and packaging technology in Nuremberg, but also automation, labeling technology and intralogistics.
The theme of this year's Fachpack is "Transition In Packaging", which describes the changes currently taking place in the industry and is reflected in the eleven exhibition halls and the trade fair's supporting program.Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibitions, NürnbergMesse, is delighted:2024 "After our break year, we are now on the home stretch towards Fachpack 2024. Preparations are in full swing and everything is coming together."
54 percent of the exhibitors come from Germany, the rest from the DACH economic region and neighboring countries. Turkey in particular will be strongly represented, the organizer announced. Also worth mentioning are the new exhibitors, who will account for around 20 percent. The internationality of these exhibitors is very high at 70 percent.
Supporting program: Forums with exciting topics
Fachpack sees itself as a driving force in the industry. In addition to the product exhibition, this is also reflected in the lecture program of the three forums Packbox (Hall 4), Innovationbox (Hall 2) and Solpak 5.0 (Hall 3). All three forums address current industry topics, such as dealing with the new PPWR regulations, the circular economy, automation and AI, as well as alternative packaging solutions and new fiber raw materials.
New this year is the Women4Packaging networking event for women in the packaging industry on the first day of the trade fair (24.9., NCC Mitte). It offers industry players the opportunity to network and exchange ideas. The whole event will take place in a relaxed atmosphere. Highlight: The keynote speech by Vera Strauch, founder of the Female Leadership Academy and expert in feminist leadership.
Also on the first day of the trade fair, it's "Clear the stage!" for the 41 winners of the German Packaging Award. Almost 250 entries from 13 countries were submitted in advance and wanted to be assessed and judged in person. The German Packaging Award is presented by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and is awarded in ten categories. As a premium partner, Fachpack awards the special prize for young talents. This award recognizes the best packaging concepts from school pupils, trainees and students.
The Students Day on the third day of the trade fair (September 26) will then bring companies and young packaging professionals together. At the invitation of Fachpack and the German Packaging Institute (dvi), over 60 students from German-speaking countries will meet with professionals from up to ten packaging companies and brand owners in workshops.
Alternative packaging solutions and newcomers
Another item on the program: the "Alternative packaging solutions" pavilion. Here, alternative examples to conventional materials will be presented, providing a glimpse of what could be possible in the future. In the fully booked pavilion in Hall 3, 13 companies will be exhibiting compostable film bags, cushioning material made from grain husks, compostable tea bags, packaging made from sugar cane and much more. The Solpack 5.0 forum is also part of this pavilion. A total of 35 experts and pavilion exhibitors will be giving short presentations.
Anyone looking for fresh, unconventional ideas and products to solve packaging issues will find them again this year at the start-ups in the packaging industry in Hall 2. And anyone interested in packaging design should stop by the special design show "Outside the Box" in Hall 4. Organized by bayern design, it shows the design path from the idea to good packaging design and provides insights into the impact of design in development processes.
