"The EU will respond to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and the latest atrocities committed by the Russian army with tougher sanctions. Although the export bans on technology will have a direct impact on mechanical engineering and the coal embargo will have an indirect impact on our industry, the VDMA supports the new measures as well as the sanctions previously adopted by the EU. The population and industry must assume that there may be further escalations and therefore further sanctions."
