Logistics service provider Dachser is planning to expand its site in Landsberg, Saxony-Anhalt, by constructing a modern build-to-suit (BTS) property in close cooperation with project developer Panattoni.

This new property, which represents the ninth collaboration between Dachser and Panattoni, will expand the business activities of the company's existing branch. An outstanding feature of this project is the flexible design of the BTS property, which enables Dachser to serve customers with different requirements.

In particular, three of the four hall sections are intended for customers from the food industry with special refrigeration requirements.Panattoni has proven to be a reliable project development partner alongside Dachser for the ninth time. A recently completed distribution center in Rottenburg am Neckar was built in a record-breaking six months.

Opportunity for expansion

The new location in Landsberg is only one kilometer away from the existing building and is optimally connected to supra-regional transport routes. The A9 can be reached via the B100 in just 6 minutes and the A14 in just 10 minutes. The planned facility will have around 18,000 m² of hall space and 1,400 m² of office and social areas. Thomas Burger, Head of Construction & Real Estate at Dachser, emphasizes the importance of this new hall, as it will enable the company to expand in view of the high capacity utilization and continue to provide sufficient space for customers.

In addition, the creation of new jobs will have a positive economic effect on the region. The project also places great emphasis on sustainability. Panattoni is aiming for DGNB Gold certification for the construction and is planning, among other things, a photovoltaic system on the roof to supply its own electricity. Construction is scheduled to start in November 2023 and is due for completion in September 2024.
