Logistics real estate
ThielemannGroup builds new logistics center in Bavaria
The ThielemannGroup is investing around 30 million euros in a new logistics center in Wernberg-Köblitz in the Upper Palatinate. On a site of around 53,000 square meters, complex logistics tasks will be handled for well-known e-commerce customers from the home tool and electrical retail sectors once the project is completed. The tenant of the facility is the Recht Logistik Group, headquartered in Brühl (NRW). Up to 180 new jobs are expected to be created in the new logistics center.
Numerous large international companies have operations in the greater Regensburg area. The central and northern Upper Palatinate is characterized by many small and medium-sized industrial companies, which often occupy a leading international position with their innovative strength. Industry and trade therefore have a high demand for efficient warehouse solutions as well as upstream and downstream order picking and logistics services.
Expected to be in operation in the second quarter of 2025
For Navid Thielemann, CEO of the ThielemannGroup, these are the best conditions for investing in a state-of-the-art and sustainable logistics location: "In Wernberg-Köblitz, we are developing a logistics center with an area of over 32,000 square meters on a 53,000 square meter site. The facility is expected to start operations in the second quarter of 2025," says Navid Thielemann. "The conditions are ideal: the site has already been developed and development plans are in place. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the municipality, which we have found to be unbureaucratic and extremely constructive."
"Range of state-of-the-art logistics services"
Wernberg-Köblitz will benefit from the fact that tenants and users of the facility are already established: Recht Logistik Gruppe will take on comprehensive logistics tasks for existing customers from the home tool and electrical trade. "In addition, we are creating a range of state-of-the-art logistics services with which we will open up the market in Bavaria for ourselves," says Christian Karl Flick, CEO of the RECHT Logistik Group. "We are confident that we will also gain new customers here, whose projects we will implement efficiently and to a high quality in the new logistics property. This will enable us to continue our growth in Bavaria in the future."
The topic of sustainability will also be taken into account: "Sustainability plays a major role for us, especially in the development and subsequent operation of our new logistics center," says Navid Thielemann. "The planned property is to be awarded a DGNB Gold certificate."
"Ideal connections to the metropolitan regions of Munich and Nuremberg"
For Konrad Kiener, First Mayor of Wernberg-Köblitz, the planned logistics property is further proof of the good strategic location: "With the opening of the borders to Eastern Europe, our location has moved to the center of Europe and has developed into an important hub in Bavaria in recent decades. Our commercial and industrial area West II offers ideal connections to the metropolitan regions of Munich and Nuremberg via the A93, A3, A6 and A9 highways, as well as perfect access to the Central and Eastern European markets."
