Bluhm Systems twice ISO-certified
Bluhm Systeme GmbH has been ISO-certified again since the beginning of the year. In addition to the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for a successfully practiced quality management system, which has been extended for a further three years, the marking provider has now also received the ISO 14001:2015 certificate from Dekra for the first time. This certifies that the company operates in a sustainable and environmentally conscious manner.
"Environmental management starts with small things like lighting," says Tobias Salz, Quality Management Officer at Bluhm Systeme GmbH. "We are currently in the process of gradually replacing the last conventional light sources in the offices and in production with energy-saving LED lights." The company is also demonstrating environmental awareness in the shipping area by bundling orders where possible and using sustainable packaging materials.
There is still great potential in the labeling provider's label production. Here, Bluhm Systeme aims to significantly reduce the quantities of rejects and waste, which have already been reduced in the past, through improved set-up processes and more economical web trimming.
"In recent years, there has been a rethink in society due to the progression of global warming. The aim is to cut CO2 emissions and reduce water consumption and waste," says Tobias Salz. "This is also a challenge for the industry. As a company, we are responding to this with our environmental management system and sustainable labeling solutions."
