New electric tow tractors and platform trucks from Linde Material Handling

New powerful electric tow tractors and platform trucks from Linde Material Handling (MH) are now flexing their muscles. Equipped with safety features, driving comfort and drive, the tractors and transport vehicles are designed to increase handling performance at automotive and steel producers, airports, wholesale markets or in traffic-calmed areas.

The new electric tow tractors in the Linde P120 to P350 model series are designed for towing loads of twelve, 18, 25, 30 and 35 tons, and the P250 model is also available with a short or long wheelbase. The two platform trucks Linde W20 and W30 move two and three tons of load respectively, alternatively six tons of towing load. Here, too, there are options for the length of the wheelbase.

"The vehicles are even more durable when transporting long distances, for example. This provides an efficiency boost," says Sandra Karras, Product Manager Warehouse Technology, highlighting one of the product benefits.

High performance on inclines

Thanks to the electric motors, the vehicles can master ramps, underpasses with inclines and long distances at speeds of up to 25 kilometers per hour. The entire vehicle design also takes into account the regulations that apply around airports.

The aim of the improved ergonomics is to provide the driver with the best possible support and thus make the transportation of goods even more productive. The spacious cab with a wide, non-slip entrance, large display, comfortable seats, air conditioning and lighting, as well as many other features, creates a perfect working environment. Additional windows in the doors and roof provide the driver with all-round visibility, which is particularly important on difficult terrain. The doors are electronically monitored: The tractor unit only starts up when the doors are closed.

To prevent unintentional acceleration on slopes or ramps, the driver can activate automatic speed reduction at the touch of a button. Other safety equipment includes a protective grille for the rear window, emergency stop switches on the right and left at the rear of the vehicle, a solid metal protective shield on the front of the vehicle, double mirrors on the doors and lighting solutions such as the Linde BlueSpot. All these measures contribute to both a high level of driver comfort and safe working conditions.
