Optimized intralogistics
TwinFleet shows what industrial trucks really do
What are industrial trucks doing on the factory floor all day? Leadec TwinFleet answers this question: the solution creates transparency and shows starting points for optimizing the fleet and warehouse.
With Leadec TwinFleet, the service specialist for factories presents a manufacturer-neutral solution that brings transparency to intralogistics. TwinFleet visualizes in real time how industrial trucks are actually being used. A set of sensors records relevant data such as position, load or lift height. The information is transferred to the Leadec Industrial Cloud via a gateway, where it is aggregated and analyzed. A dashboard clearly displays the utilization of the fleet as well as usage patterns and anomalies.
More transparency, greater efficiency
"With Leadec TwinFleet, we create a digital twin of the intralogistics fleet directly in the factory. This provides our customers with an objective data basis for optimization - from efficient capacity utilization and route planning to sustainable investment decisions," explains Alexander Bonk, SVP Operations Germany at Leadec.
The aim is to use Leadec TwinFleet to identify and improve processes and bottlenecks. The solution helps to move from experience-based to data-based decisions. "For example, one of our customers had difficulties finding new employees for intralogistics. Today, the existing team can cover the increased demand with more full trips thanks to a more even workload and time savings through optimized routes," says Alexander Bonk.
The dashboard provides the evaluations and the potential for improvement is developed in collaboration with the company using the system. The data can be used to smooth load peaks, implement improved order allocation with real-time information or identify suitable interchange stations to reduce distances. A further module - an RFID-based goods flow analysis - will be available shortly.
The digital twin also provides information for investment decisions, such as the selection of suitable battery types or the determination of future lifting heights and load capacities.
Visibility of the movement profiles
The visualization of movement profiles not only shows optimization potential in the fleet, but also in the warehouse layout. Heat maps make heavily frequented areas visible and enable targeted adjustments to relieve critical zones. TwinFleet also increases occupational safety: with warnings in the event of overheight, speed monitoring in defined areas and other analysis functions.
Leadec TwinFleet is the result of a joint research project between Leadec, Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger, Sick and the Ferdinand Steinbeis Institute.
