Next generation electric wire rope hoist
SWF Krantechnik, supplier of components for industrial cranes and hoists, presented its new product innovationsto trade visitors for the first timeat LogiMAT.
One of the new products is the NOVA2rope. With this electric wire rope hoist, SWF Krantechnik aims to redefinethe traditional wire rope hoist with modern technology and materials. The structure has been redesigned. One special feature is that NOVA2rope can be fittedwitha synthetic rope made from Dyneemahigh-performance fiber as an alternative to the conventional steel rope . NOVA2rope will be launched on the market in the course of 2024. Models for lifting capacities of up to 10 tonsare expected to be available atthe start of the new series.
Synthetic rope on the hoist: these are the advantages
This has several advantages: the plastic rope is 90% lighter than the steel rope version. In addition, no lubrication is required, making maintenance cleaner and easier.Broken wires or sharp edges also eliminate the risk of injury and reducewear on the drum, rope guide and rope pulleys.
The rope drum has a closed bearing and has the same groove geometry for both rope types, whichsimplifiesconversion from plastic to steel rope . The hoist motor and gearbox are located on the outside of the drum. The hook block is designed for the synthetic and steel wire rope and offers good finger protection and an ergonomic grip. The belt drive provides traction. The guide rollers reduce wear, which contributes to a longer service life of the components. Compared to the previousNOVA1rope model,the overload protection is positioned higher up to make disassembly and maintenance easier.
The digitally networked OMNI controlhoist monitoring system, the VARIO controlfrequency inverter control system and intelligent electronic monitoring and control aids complete the crane solution.
Explosion-proof chain hoist
At the start of the new series, ATHLO chain Ex Zone 22is designedfor load capacities from 160 kg to 1,000 kg. Further sizes with load capacities of up to 2,500 kg will follow in the course of time. ATHLO chain Ex Zone 22 guarantees maximum safety and complies with all current strict ATEX regulations as well as all required European directives and standards. Significant changes have been made to meet the strict explosion protection regulations. These are aimed at the following areas:

Proper sealing under various environmental conditions

Maximum surface temperature of 120 degrees, overheating not possible

Exclusion of sparking due to static electricity or other ignition methods
In addition to the trade fair innovations, SWF Krantechnik presented the ATHLO belthoist and the ProfileMaster PLUS light crane system with chain hoists from the ATHLO chain series.
