Knapp implements robot solution at Christian Dior
In search of a solution that combines efficiency with optimum quality, Parfum Christian Dior opted for an automation solution from Knapp. A combination of shuttle and robot technology ensures that store orders, retailer orders and even individual deliveries can be processed in the international central warehouse in Saint Jean de Braye, France.
The automation was accompanied by a reduction in storage space and logistics processes. This is achieved through a combination of the OSR Shuttle system and robot technology. 90% of the product range is stored securely and space-savingly in the OSR Shuttle. In addition to omni-channel picking of full cartons for the B2B business or individual items for B2C orders, the shuttle system ensures that orders are buffered and sequenced before delivery.
The OSR shuttle system also ensures even utilization of the eight ergonomic Pick-it-Easy workstations. Different activities such as picking, storage, compaction, inventory or other value-added services can be carried out here in an ergonomic manner. With the integrated KiSoft software solution, Parfum Christian Dior has a complete overview and access to the entire range at all times.
Robots take over the picking and the prescribed labeling of the full cartons. The combination of robots with image recognition technology and the KiSoft Packmaster software enables automatic and optimized pallet formation of many different cartons.
