The topping-out wreath was raised at the new building in the TIP Innovationspark Nordheide in Buchholz near Hamburg on February 27: The new K.Hartwall plant will comprise approx. 3,500 m² of hall space and around 2,000 m² of office and social areas.

In addition to an office building, a new plant for the production of LiftLiner tugger trains and A-Mate automated guided vehicles and mobile robots is being built on a site covering 12,500 m².

Returnable load carriers and warehouse automation

Peper & Söhne from Bremen is taking on the project development for the new building and is aiming for at least Gold certification in accordance with DGNB standards. Goldbeck Nord is the total transferee of the building, with completion scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2025. WLH Wirtschaftsförderung im Landkreis Harburg acted as an intermediary and advisor.

K.Hartwall is a Finnish medium-sized family business and solution provider for intralogistics. In addition to returnable load carriers, the company also develops solutions for material flow automation in the manufacturing industry at its German site and develops and builds mechatronic machines in the high-tech field of autonomous driving. This includes the LiftLiner tugger trains and the A-Mate mobile robots.

The company now employs 65 people in Germany, so the premises in Heidenau have become too small. "The layout of the new building meets our specific requirements and enables greater operational efficiency. K.Hartwall is thus investing in the future and expansion of the company and the German site, paving the way for sustainable growth in the region and on the international market," adds Dr. Ralf Kleedörfer, Head of Automation at K.Hartwall GmbH.
