Who doesn't know the Swiss Army Knife? The original (left) is made by Victorinox in Ibach-Schwyz, Switzerland. The counterfeit (right) is sold on the Internet. The identities of the online dealers are difficult to trace and it is often difficult to track them down. The Victorinox trademark (cross and shield) entices customers to buy. However, the promise of quality associated with the original brand is not kept by the extremely cheap counterfeits (blurred knives, non-functioning magnifying glass). Unfortunately, in addition to original goods, large numbers of illegal counterfeits and fakes are also being offered on well-known global e-commerce platforms.
