Warehouse-/Picking technology

TGW manages mammoth project until 2019

Increasing orders and a lack of warehouse space were compelling reasons for TVH to work with TGW to expand its existing distribution center. TVH Corporation is a family-owned company based in Waregem, Belgium, and distributes parts for forklifts and industrial trucks all over the world.

Mammoth project until 2019

In 2014, 540 employees processed 8,000 orders a day at the existing facility in Waregem. The number of items stored reached the 500,000 mark. Now TVH is building a 12,000 square meter automated distribution center for order picking, packing and shipping. The new distribution center will improve TVH's customer service by offering an expanded product range and increase throughput to strengthen the company's market position. TGW has been selected as TVH's automation partner and will integrate a shuttle system for the storage of plastic containers. The entire Stingray shuttle system will comprise 13 aisles and 50 levels. TVH will be able to store more than 400,000 containers in the 25 meter high shuttle block. This "picking machine" will serve the storage totes at the goods-to-person picking stations. A network of TGW KingDrive conveyors will connect all storage and operating areas. TGW Natrix sorters are also part of this conveyor network. The new distribution center will go into operation in 2019.
