Trade fair highlight in Leipzig
Highlights of Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Substances
During the Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Substances trade fair from April 9 to 11, the focus will be on products for the transportation, storage and in-house logistics of hazardous substances.
Both global market leaders and innovative SMEs will be presenting their range of services at the second edition of Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff at the Leipzig trade fair. "The wide range of exhibitors covers the entire logistics chain for dangerous goods and hazardous substances as well as the associated safety aspects. The trade fair offers ideal conditions for logistics decision-makers, specialist managers and safety officers in transport, handling and production companies to find out about and exchange information on the latest industry developments and current topics," says Project Director Matthias Kober.
Exhibitor Dachser's stand motto at Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff 2019 is "Essential Connections" - the market-leading company thus brings the world of chemical connections and global logistics together under one common denominator. Michael Kriegel, Department Head Dachser Chem-Logistics: "With 396 of our own locations in 44 countries, we can create precisely the connections that companies in the chemical industry need for their procurement and distribution." Dachser transports over 3.2 million shipments of chemical products in its European overland transportation network. In addition, there are warehouses designed for the storage of hazardous substances.
Conveyor technology from Linde network partners
Linde networkpartners Sander Fördertechnik, Carl Beutlhauser Hebe- und Fördertechnik and Günsel Fördertechnik und Fahrzeugbau will be presenting a wide range of solutions for safe intralogistics. Visitors can view forklift trucks for use in potentially explosive areas, the Linde Roadster with its vehicle design without an A-pillar and various optical forklift truck route warning devices. Live demonstrations of the Linde Safety Guard forklift truck collision warning system, the forklift truck tipping simulator and a solution for monitoring the rear area of forklift trucks as well as expert presentations on the Linde Safety Scan safety solution will round off the trade fair presentation. As a highlight, the function of the forklift assistance system for Linde reach trucks, Dynamic Mast Control (DMS), can be experienced live.
Focus on safe storage of lithium batteries
Lithium batteries are essential today, but the technology poses a risk of fire and bursting. Denios' portfolio for the storage of these batteries ranges from fire protection storage for small quantities or sizes to the large-scale Rack-Fire-Protect (RFP) fire protection rack storage system. The Walk-In-Fire-Protect (WFP) walk-in storage system offers many options as a manual storage system for smaller module sizes. The Protecto stand will also be all about lithium batteries. The hazardous materials storage specialist offers solutions in all sizes - from safety cabinets and fire protection containers to hazardous materials storage systems - for the safe storage of lithium batteries.
Packaging solutions for hazardous goods
richter & heß Industrie- und Gefahrgutverpackungs GmbH will be exhibiting a special plastic container at Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff. The intermediate bulk container is used in particular for the transportation and storage of liquid substances. The exhibitor buhl-paperform has developed the GlassPac molded fiber protective packaging for the hazardous goods sector. Versions for various bottle types and screw caps will be presented at the trade fair in Leipzig.
Load securing done right
Load securing methods are becoming increasingly efficient. However, the cost factor often beats safety, as the company Rainer Ladungssicherungstechnik reports. The formation of load units, handling and the loading and unloading process are decisive for the overall costs of a load securing method. At the Rainer Ladungssicherungstechnik stand, interested parties can see for themselves what optimum and cost-effective loading looks like.
Full-service offer for the disposal of hazardous substances
Remondis Industrie Service will be presenting its full range of services for the disposal of hazardous substances in Leipzig. This includes the Remondis AS-Control separator service. The range of services includes monitoring and checking the system. Visitors to the trade fair can also find out about the Mobiwer vehicle, which was designed for mobile workshop disposal. According to Remondis, the service is unique in Germany: Mobiwer disposes of up to five fractions of typical workshop waste on each journey. This saves time, money and organizational effort.
Measuring and testing hazardous gases
Among other things, Dräger Safety will be exhibiting devices for gas measurement at the trade fair. These include the Pac series of single-gas measuring devices. In addition to standard gases, the devices detect special gases such as ozone, phosgene and nitrogen dioxide. The Dräger X-am 8000, which can also be seen at Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff, measures up to seven toxic or combustible gases and vapors as well as oxygen simultaneously. The company is also bringing along the Dräger Regard 7000, a modular evaluation system for monitoring gases and vapors.
With the Plant Assist Manager (PAM), exhibitor Rösberg Engineering has developed a client-server solution for electronic operator guidance that can be linked to any control system via a standardized OPC interface. The PAM server controls communication with the process control system as well as with the clients. The server also stores the data from the work processes in a database and generates reports and statistics. The solution makes customers ready for Industry 4.0.
