Conveyor technology for incoming and outgoing goods
Feintool orders automated narrow-aisle warehouse from Jungheinrich
Feintool System Parts Obertshausen GmbH, a specialist in components for the automotive industry, has commissioned Jungheinrich to build an automated narrow-aisle warehouse at its Obertshausen site.
The warehouse has a capacity of 3456 pallet spaces. The racking system in the 42-meter-long warehouse has a stacking height of up to 11.95 meters. Incoming and outgoing goods are handled by conveyor technology. At the heart of the system are two automated Jungheinrich EKX 516a high-rack stackers. Both trucks are equipped with a swivel push fork. The EKX 516a is based on Jungheinrich's EKX three-side stacker with a load capacity of 1,600 kg, to which automation components have been added.
Using inductive guidance in combination with RFID transponders, the trucks can position themselves precisely at the storage location and switch automatically between the four aisles of the warehouse. The Jungheinrich Warehouse Control System (WCS) controls the automated processes. Equipped with 80-volt synchronous reluctance motors, the EKX 516a trucks operate in an energy-saving manner. Jungheinrich's patented load lowering and braking system for maximum energy recovery also contributes to this. The integration of an on-board loader and the equipment with conductor rail and pantograph enable continuous operation of the trucks in the warehouse.
