"In view of our growth, automation is essential to meet the increasing demand," explains Osman Şentürk, CEO of Eren Perakende. "With this investment, we are pursuing the goal of offering our customers a seamless, fully omnichannel shopping experience. The collaboration with Dematic also enables us to implement a forward-looking solution that will make our distribution processes significantly more efficient and precise. This will strengthen our ability to meet the expectations of our customers in an even more targeted manner."

The challenges: Labor shortage and rising operating costs

Other reasons for the investment were the increasing labor shortage and rising operating costs. Eren Perakende therefore made a conscious decision to expand its automated processes in order to optimize its fulfillment operations in a targeted manner. The fully automated system is based on Dematic's warehouse management software, which integrates seamlessly into the existing SAP system and enables functions such as real-time inventory tracking, efficient order processing and intelligent fulfillment management.

Mithun Perinchery, Sales Director for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey at Dematic, explains: "Our aim is to combine intelligent design with state-of-the-art technology to create a system that delivers demonstrable efficiency gains." He continues: "With our latest Goods-to-Person (GTP) picking stations and Dematic Multishuttle technology, Eren Perakende can significantly speed up order fulfillment, substantially reduce manual effort and confidently meet increasing market demand."

The GTP solution integrates a Dematic Multishuttle system, which enables high-density storage as well as fast and precise order provision. It automatically delivers the required items to the GTP picking stations, significantly increasing processing speed and accuracy and noticeably reducing dependency on manual processes. Dematic is also implementing a pocket sorting system for sorting and delivering individual parts. The system is complemented by an integrated conveyor system that optimizes the flow of goods from goods receipt to order processing and dispatch, ensuring a seamless material flow throughout.

"The Multishuttle enables Eren Perakende to make optimum use of the available storage space. Thanks to its flexibility and modularity, the system can grow with the company and easily handle up to 4,000 load movements per hour," explains Perinchery.

Dematic is working closely with its Turkish automation consulting partner, ILA Otomasyon Yazılım A.Ş., to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing service support. In addition, the leading engineering consultancy for supply chains and logistics, SDZ GmbH, will play a central role in the planning and integration of the automation system on behalf of Eren Perakende. The Turkish SDZ team is supporting the project during the realization and go-live phase with its expertise.
