ATP expands e-commerce logistics center

Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH from Parkstein is also acting as the general logistics contractor for the upcoming expansion. The modular expansion, based on ATP's forecast business development, is scheduled to go into operation in July 2016. The integration of four multifunctional pick and pack workstations and two additional miniload aisles with 14,400 storage locations will expand the container warehouse to a total of nine aisles, 65,000 storage locations and twelve picking locations. An order consolidation buffer ensures the optimal consolidation of large-volume and small-volume items that have been picked for a customer order in different logistics areas. Conveyor lines and a telescopic loading station transport the parcels fully automatically directly to the shipping truck. Up to 10,000 parcels per day can then be delivered from the highly dynamic system.
