Cooperation agreement signed
AR Racking and the University of Mondragon cooperate
AR Racking, provider of storage systems, and the private university Mondragon (Spain) have signed a cooperation agreement. The aim of the collaboration is to research and develop innovative intralogistics solutions.
To this end, AR Racking is providing Mondragon University with its own research laboratory within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical Design, the "AR Lab". This is intended to enable both real-life practical tests of materials and designs as well as realistic simulations. It will be used to supervise doctoral theses, provide training and test new experimental methods.
The cooperation will focus on the development of prototypes and test benches. Initial contacts were already established in 2017 with the aim of advancing such research projects.
Load tests up to 80 tons possible
One of the special features of the "AR Lab": A test bench for various inspection procedures on uprights, connectors, frames, beams and other components of a racking system enables load tests of up to 80 tons. According to the company, this makes the test bench one of the most powerful in its sector.
Further cooperations
The "AR Lab" is not AR Racking's first strategic partnership with the university. Two other collaborations focus on research in the areas of "Digitalization of sheet metal forming processes" and "Welding control of trusses".
