Large crane HMF 9520: First live demonstration

Bietigheim-Bissingen, 18.06.20198 - The Danish manufacturer of loader cranes HMF has now presented its newly developed large crane type HMF 9520 in Munich and Bietigheim-Bissingen. Around 50 customers and interested parties took the opportunity to find out about the world first in a small group three months before the IAA.
The loading crane is available with a variety of new functions. PowerHoist is a new cable winch solution that eliminates the time-consuming threading of the cable and the installation of deflection pulleys before starting work. PowerSwing refers to the newly developed hydraulically swiveling support legs, which allow all support leg functions to be operated simultaneously. PowerDisplay is a completely new color display that informs the operator particularly quickly with graphical and color-differentiated displays. Like all other loader cranes from HMF, the new HMF 9520 also offers optimum lifting capacity combined with a low dead weight. For additional reach, the large crane is available with a specially adapted fly jib.

The cranes are equipped with a new slewing system with two motors, which enables even smoother operation and particularly precise work. The proven RCL safety system from HMF has been updated with two new functions: The PCC function (Progressive Crane Control) dampens mechanical or hydraulic vibrations during sudden deflections of the control levers so that crane movements remain smooth. This makes crane work more effective and reduces wear. The PFC function (Progressive Flow Control) regulates the delivery volume of the pump if the operation requires more delivery volume than the pump can deliver. This guarantees that no crane functions are stopped, even in extreme situations.

The new crane will be equipped with the patented, tilt-dependent EVS stability system, which works without measuring the outriggers. If required, EVS can be deactivated with the new AutoSwitch function when the extension boxes are fully extended and the support legs are in contact with the ground. According to the company, the EVS system, which was introduced back in 1998, is the longest-established electronic solution for stability in the loader crane sector. EVS stands for "Electronic Vehicle Stability" and permanently monitors the vehicle tilt and actively adjusts the load torque of the crane to the limit of the vehicle stability. EVS only becomes active when the current stability limit is reached and reduces the movement speed of the crane to a safe level. The system stops the crane movement when the maximum vehicle tilt is reached. EVS is therefore an active stability system that takes the current load status of the truck into account.
The new HMF 9520 replaces the HMF 8520 crane model and will be delivered from the fall. Founded in Højbjerg in 1945, HMF has been building loader cranes since 1953 and today offers them with load capacities from 0.5 to 95 mt. HMF's German subsidiary has around 120 partner companies. The company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. ms
