Strategic partnership
TGW Logistics and Opex Corporation work together
The European intralogistics specialist TGW Logistics and the US warehouse automation expert Opex want to work closely together as part of a strategic partnership. To this end, the two automation specialists recently signed a strategic partnership agreement.
As part of the collaboration, TGW Logistics is contributing its experience to the further development of Opex's Infinity ASRS technology. The latter is also used in LivePick, TGW Logistics' new order fulfillment system.
Opex is an automation provider and develops solutions for warehouse, document and mail automation. The family-run company based in the USA currently employs more than 1,500 people on five continents, TGW Logistics as a global intralogistics specialist employs more than 4,400 people. Headquartered in Marchtrenk (Austria), the company serves well-known US customers such as Gap, Urban Outfitters and Victoria's Secret via its branch in Grand Rapids (Michigan).
Flexible robots: efficient use of space
The award-winning Opex Infinity ASRS system is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized fulfillment projects. Infinity robots can move freely in both the vertical and horizontal axes and make highly efficient use of the available space.
Compared to competing technologies, Infinity offers up to 35 percent higher storage capacity in the same footprint and up to 65 percent greater efficiency in the distances robots travel on the shelf, according to the company. "Opex is excited to partner with TGW Logistics to further expand our groundbreaking Infinity AS/RS technology," said Alex Stevens, President Warehouse Automation, Opex. "We have always admired TGW Logistics' technology, experience and quality - combined with our innovation and product expertise, this partnership will result in comprehensive solutions that will delight our customers."
"Milestone in cooperation"
"We are very pleased about the partnership with Opex. It is a strategic milestone that is supported by shared values and a strong focus on corporate culture," emphasizes Christoph Wolkerstorfer, Chief Technology Officer of TGW Logistics. "With our experience as a system integrator, we will bring new impetus for the optimization and further development of Infinity to the collaboration."
