A farewell in installments

At the age of 67, Peter Kazander, Managing Director of Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, retired at the end of June. Born in the Netherlands, he joined Euroexpo, a member of the HUSS Group, as Event Manager in 2003. Under his aegis, LogimatT advanced from a small trade fair on Stuttgart's Killesberg to the world's most important international intralogistics trade fair within 20 years. Logimat now fills all ten halls at the new Stuttgart exhibition center every year with exhibitors from the world of in-house logistics and attracts over 60,000 trade visitors from all over the world who want to find out about the latest products, trends and solutions for material flow in warehousing and production and do business.

Always ready to break new ground

Kazander has been Managing Director of Euroexpo since 2015 and additionally Managing Director of the subsidiary Logistics Exhibitions (LEG) since 2013 in order to continuously develop and expand Logimat's foreign trade fairs in China and Thailand. "Together with his team, he has made Logimat a champion of intralogistics trade fairs worldwide and an indispensable part of the logistics industry's calendar," says Christoph Huss, Managing Partner of Euroexpo, in praise of the outgoing trade fair boss. Thanks to Kazander's commitment to setting up the digital event platform Logimat.digital, the trade fair survived the critical coronavirus years even without a physical trade fair. "He was always willing to break new ground," Huss recalls of their collaboration.

"Forever connected"

Kazander also looks back on his successful trade fair team with gratitude and pride. "The basis of our success was always good teamwork in the turbulent trade fair business. With this small but highly motivated and committed team, we were able to achieve a great deal with Logimat that will bind us together forever," Kazander promises his employees.

Michael Ruchty takes over

The continuity of success is ensured. With Logimat 2023, the most successful trade fair since its inception, Kazander handed over his last duties to Michael Ruchty, who was already responsible for Logimat in Stuttgart as Event Director. "I have learned a lot from Peter Kazander over the last few years. Now it's time for me to manage Logimat in Stuttgart on my own and fill his shoes well," comments Ruchty on his predecessor's retirement.

But it is a farewell in installments. Kazander remains Managing Director of LEG in charge of Logimat China and is responsible for the success of the second Logimat Intelligent Warehouse trade fair in Bangkok, Thailand.
