PSI Logistics Day provided impetus for supply chain network design

Stuttgart, 15 June 2018 - The fourth PSI Logistics Day took place at Stuttgart Airport under the motto "Digital networking in logistics". The Berlin-based software company presented its product developments for logistics processes. In addition, market needs, performance expectations and user experiences were discussed with customers and interested parties.
Various product developments were presented in lectures by PSI product managers, such as the new releases PSIwms 2018 and PSIglobal 2018 and Kanban optimization using PSI software as an integration of PSIwms and PSIpenta. Ingolf Heil, Head of Software Technology at PSI Logistics GmbH, spoke about new corporate developments and logistics products, with a special focus on the Application Managed Services from the PSI Cloud.
In addition, guest speakers used best-practice examples to demonstrate the digital transformation in companies using PSI software. Dr. Rupert Deger (CIO e.GO Mobile AG) spoke about the advantages of an integrated PSI IT infrastructure with the PSIpenta ERP system, the PSImes manufacturing execution system and the PSIwms warehouse management system for the e.GO Life production network. The startup e.GO Mobile is developing an electric car based purely on batteries. This is intended for shorter distances and should be affordable and practical. The prototype is expected to go into series production soon, and there are already over 2,600 reservations.
Holger Michael, Operations Manager of Nordkurier Logistik Berlin GmbH & Co. KG, gave a further presentation on the use of PSIwms within his company. Dr. Christian Lippolt (Head of Logistics Consulting at Robert Bosch GmbH) showed how the global supply chain network design at Bosch was planned and optimized using PSIglobal.
