For maximum and transparent performance: WAMAS LRM

With its new "Labor and Resource Management" system Wamas LRM, SSI Schaefer leads intralogistics to optimized performance and guarantees information transparency. Not only individual processes, but the entire internal material flow is taken into account by the system and work performance is optimized.

With Wamas LRM, the globally active system provider is expanding its IT service portfolio around Wamas. Whether as a stand-alone system linked to an existing WMS or already integrated into Wamas: The LRM system records the overall work performance of all intralogistics employees as well as the warehouse performance itself and evaluates all data individually, in groups or by shift performance. As a result of the complete evaluation, Wamas LRM optimizes the use of all resources deployed: for the most efficient execution of all activities in daily operations.

From "actual" to "target"

"Wamas LRM ensures complete transparency of all employee-related warehouse processes," says Franz Bauer-Kieslinger, Executive Vice President IT Solutions at SSI Schaefer. "As a result, we expect productivity increases in the double-digit percentage range. And finally, we are expanding our range of services to include process flow analyses and optimization."

The new model calculates all distances and the resulting travel and lifting times in the warehouse. Depending on the means of transport or walking speed used, the system divides all warehouse processes into freely definable time modules. The specified target times of activities are then compared with the actual times in order to calculate performance, evaluate it in real time and compare and analyze value-adding and non-value-adding work.

More than ever, the use of efficiency-enhancing workforce management is proving to be a decisive competitive advantage for many companies in highly competitive markets. The pressure on warehouse operators is growing enormously due to the constantly increasing volume that needs to be handled in the warehouse and the ever-increasing variation in stock removal volumes as a result of promotional days.

"On the one hand, this development makes the efficient use and rapid provision as well as complete performance monitoring of resources increasingly important. And secondly, it requires even larger intralogistics systems and more employees," says Bauer-Kieslinger. Generally speaking, the higher the number of employees in the warehouse, the more sensible a sophisticated LRM system is.
