Honeycomb bearing for 8,000 tons of brass and copper
Thanks to a Remmert honeycomb warehouse, Peter Blau Ges.m.b.H. now stores up to 8,000 tons of long goods - some in excess lengths of up to 6.5 meters. Previously, the sometimes space-intensive materials were stored spread across two halls in various cantilever racks and on the floor. Although an area of 500 square meters
the maximum storage volume was only 200 tons. Thanks to the powerful drive technology of the Remmert system, storage movements are fast and flexible. Access to the long goods is twice as fast as before. Thanks to the fully automatic storage system, the reject rate due to material damage is less than one percent. The brass and copper materials are removed manually or by overhead crane. Thanks to Remmert's "honeycomb", the metal trader is now perfectly positioned and can look forward to future challenges with confidence. Blau's key requirements have been fully met by the long goods system: more space, increased storage capacity and more efficient material handling.
