Laying of the foundation stone in Chevenez

A new high-bay warehouse is being built for Ateliers Busch

The foundation stone for a new high-bay warehouse was laid last Friday at the Busch Vacuum Solutions site in Chevenez, Switzerland. Once completed, it will be used to automatically supply production lines.

"This investment drives our corporate strategy forward: we want to become a sustainable and first-class company in order to consolidate our leading position in the manufacture of industrial vacuum pumps," explained Christian Hoffmann, Managing Director of Ateliers Busch, in his speech.

Concept for smart logistics
By laying the foundation stone for the high-bay warehouse, the Busch family has also laid another cornerstone for the future of Busch in Chevenez. After its completion, the high-bay warehouse will be used to automatically supply the production lines there.

The new building is part of the "Smart Logistics" concept, which enables work to be synchronized with the provision of materials. According to the so-called "goods-to-man" principle, the parts for assembling a Busch product will in future come to the employees as required and will not have to be fetched by them as before. This means short, needs-based storage times and lean supply chains.

Preventive fire protection
Once completed, the new high-bay warehouse will have a height of 23 meters. Like the high-bay warehouse of Busch Vacuum Solutions at its headquarters in Maulburg, Germany, the new high-bay warehouse in Chevenez will also be equipped with an active fire prevention system from the Wagner Group. By lowering the oxygen level inside, no fire can ignite. Wagner received the "Innovation in Vacuum Busch Award" for this innovation in 2017.

Sami Busch, co-owner of Busch Vacuum Solutions, said in his speech: "I think that this investment in the production site in Chevenez represents a new stage. It is another step into the future and also into the relationship between Chevenez, the canton of Jura and Busch. We look forward to a successful future."
