
Stuttgart, 11.10.2017 - Ceremony in the foyer of Messe Stuttgart: The trade magazine handling presented the "handling award" for outstanding innovations for the fourth time at Motek on October 10.
The winners of the four categories Handling and Assembly, Automation and Robotics, Quality and Safety, Storage, Picking, Handling and Transport were honored at a ceremony on the afternoon of the trade fair. Prof. Jörg Franke, Head of the Chair of Manufacturing Automation and Production Systems at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and Chairman of the Scientific Society for Assembly, Handling and Industrial Robotics - MHI e.V., presented the beaming winners with the golden hands, the symbol of the handling award.
"This award creates publicly perceived recognition, it creates appreciation for all employees of the award-winning company. The handling award rewards performance, effort and a willingness to innovate; it provides incentive and motivation," emphasized René Khestel, Managing Director of handling publisher WEKA BUSINESS MEDIEN.
Manfred Bär, Managing Director of IEF-Werner, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which is presented annually to a deserving personality in the industry by the jury, consisting of Dr. Kurt Schmalz (Schmalz GmbH), Dr. Björn Hagemann (SEW-Eurodrive), Achim Gauß (Zimmer Group), Edgar Grundler (for trade fair organizer P.E. Schall) and handling editor-in-chief Petra Born.
The award winners at a glance
The jury named Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz Cars (1st place), a junior research group from Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg (2nd place) and the Institute of Precision Engineering and Electronic Design at TU Dresden (3rd place) as the winners in the
"Handling and Assembly" category.
In the
"Automation and Robotics" group, the jury awarded the prizes to Magazino GmbH (1st place), SK-Technologies GmbH (2nd place) and the FZI Research Center for Information Technology (3rd place).
This year's winners in the
"Quality and Safety" category were: JAKOB Antriebstechnik GmbH (1st place), ELOKON GmbH (2nd) and SSP Safety System Products GmbH & Co. KG (3rd).
In the fourth category,
"Storage, picking, handling and transportation", the jury voted HOERBIGER Automotive Komfortsysteme GmbH in first place, Linde Material Handling GmbH in second place and HUBTEX Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG in third place.
Manfred Bär, Managing Director of IEF-Werner, was awarded the honorary prize for lifetime achievement.
