Gordon Riske to remain Chief Executive Officer of the KION Group until 2022

Wiesbaden, 15.07.2016 - The Supervisory Board of KION GROUP AG has extended the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Gordon Riske (59) by five years. Riske will therefore lead the KION Group until June 30, 2022. His current contract, which was last renewed in 2013, runs until the end of June 2017.

"Gordon Riske has very successfully realigned the KION Group in recent years," said John Feldmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. "Today, the company offers its customers around the world the right portfolio of industrial trucks to meet regional market requirements. To this end, KION has globally available cutting-edge technology, outstanding innovative strength and a position as the industry's cost leader. Under the leadership of Gordon Riske, the KION Group continues to develop into the leading global provider of integrated automated intralogistics solutions for Industry and Retail 4.0 following various strategic acquisitions that have transformed the company. The Supervisory Board of KION GROUP AG is convinced that the company will continue to grow successfully and profitably under the leadership of Gordon Riske and looks forward to continuing the excellent cooperation."

About Gordon Riske

American-born Gordon Riske was appointed to the Executive Board of the KION Group on October 1, 2007 and took over as CEO of the company in April 2008, which he developed from a European to a global provider of industrial trucks and related services in the years that followed. In 2012, he gained Weichai Power as a long-term strategic partner and anchor investor. KION GROUP AG's IPO in June 2013 was followed by its successful inclusion in the MDAX, the STOXX Europe 600 and the FTSE EuroMid. With the acquisitions of Egemin, Retrotech and most recently Dematic, Riske is developing the company into a global full-service intralogistics provider as part of the Strategy 2020. Before joining the KION Group, Riske was CEO of DEUTZ AG in Cologne, a leading global manufacturer of diesel and gas engines. Prior to that, he held various management positions in the KUKA Group in the USA and Germany, most recently as CEO of KUKA Roboter GmbH, Augsburg. Riske studied electrical engineering at the Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, Michigan, and holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich.
