7-axis cobots with controller in robot base
With the Edge Edition, Kassow Robots has launched the world's first 7-axis cobots with a controller integrated into the robot base.
All five 7-axis cobots are now available in two versions: the classic version with a separate controller and the Edge Edition.
Space-saving solution
Kristian Kassow and his team of engineers have thus succeeded in miniaturizing the controller, which now only comprises 10 percent of the volume of the external controller. The footprint is also compact, measuring just 160 by 200 millimeters. The Edge models have a DC connection, i.e. they are powered by direct current and can be connected to the batteries of mobile robots, for example. With these additional models, the Copenhagen-based cobot manufacturer is making automation easier for industrial companies - and offering new opportunities to implement mobile cobot AMR or cobot AGV applications and generally space-saving solutions with their lightweight robots.
"The Edge Edition of our 7-axis cobots is a world first. It enables industrial customers to make a real quantum leap when it comes to flexible automation. The controller in the robot base means additional space savings and easier integration. The Edge Edition simplifies mobile cobot applications in particular, also thanks to the direct connection to the batteries of the AGV or AMR. There is enormous potential for these mobile solutions in industrial automation," emphasizes Kristian Kassow, founder and CEO of Kassow Robots.
